Let's Talk about
What Causes Pimples
Everyday cells
on our body, including cells on our face, die (a.k.a. dead
skin). The dead skin comes together with sebum (a.k.a.
oil), the pore gets blocked with the dead skin and oil and
bam you have a pimple. Teens tend to have more pimples
because the skin is becoming thicker, which produces more
dead skin, more sebum is produced because of hormonal
changes more pores are blocked, and dang there’s another
pimple.
Now there’s a new character
in the pimple creation mix, which changes that old ugly
blackhead to a raging pimple. What causes pimples is the
character proionibacterium. Everyone has this bacterium but
the bacteria loves sebum (a.k.a. oil) and teenagers tend to
have more oil so they are more prone to pimples.

So, anyone can get a
pimple, but what causes pimples for one person and the next
person doesn’t ever get a pimple. There are things we do
that maybe we don’t realize that causes pimples.
Touching your Face is one
reason. Oils from our hands get on our skin. We scratch or
mess with the area and it becomes more inflamed, opens up to
more bacteria, and pimples start to develop.
People with oily skin tend
to have more clogged pores and this can be what causes
pimples. In order to avoid an oily face make sure you wash
your face twice a day. Remember over washing your face can
cause your skin to become dry and irritated, which leaves
you skin open to bacteria entering a white or blackhead and
creating a raging pimple.
Stress maybe what causes
pimples. Everyone gets stressed, it’s time for finals, your
boss is screaming at you, or your family is pulling you in
all directions. Many people start touching their face,
running their fingers through their hair, scratching at
irritations, and the next thing you know you have pimples
showing up.
What about food you ask?
Chocolate and fried foods are not what cause pimples. Some
people get irritated by food, which may cause an
inflammation in the body, which may cause an outbreak from
stress in the body. If you think something you are eating is
causing you to break out it is important to talk to your
doctor so he/she can rule out an allergy problem.
Finally, heredity plays a
large part in if one has pimples or not. If mom or dad had
pimples, you will probably have a pimple, two, or maybe
many.
There you
have it on what causes pimples. The good news, most people
grow out of their pimples problems. So, find a regime or
treatment that works for you and stick to it, and you
won’t have to worry about what causes pimples!!
